San Diego’s California Ballet School
Junior Company

The Junior Company, a function of San Diego’s California Ballet School, provides performing opportunities for members of the Pre-Professional division who are not yet eligible for the performing senior company (California Ballet Company). Talented, hard-working students participate in workshops for training in a variety of dance subjects such as variations, choreography, flamenco, jazz, and contemporary dance. Every year, the Junior Company is invited to perform at various local venues and participate in Educational Outreach performances throughout the community.

These aspiring students also provide mentorship to even the youngest potential performer. The Junior Company volunteers their time at all CBC performances, oversees and operates their own fundraisers and participates exclusively in the Teacher’s Assistant program at the California Ballet School.

The California Ballet Junior Company is an integral part of the school and company alike and provides an avenue for aspiring professionals to study their craft in a focused and motivating environment.
